Paul Warner, Webinar Chair

Director of Research and Development, Association of Employment and Learning Providers  

Having been a specialist recruitment consultant to the defence industry for six years, Paul started in the post-16 sector in 1993 on Training for Work contracts for TBG Learning. He subsequently took on a variety of related operational and senior management roles, culminating in a successful tenure as Director of Business Development. On leaving TBG in 2002 he worked as a consultant for a time, including a spell managing WBL delivery at Barking College in East London, before joining AELP in September 2003 particularly concentrating on the alignment of the skills and employability agendas. In his current role he is responsible for all research and development activities, and holds lead policy briefs in a number of areas including technical education reforms, SEND/LLDD, and international strategy. Paul holds a First Class Honours degree in International Relations from the University of Keele, an MA in Post-Compulsory Education and Training from the University of Sheffield, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Married with one daughter, hailing from the New Forest but living in Essex, he enjoys rock music and amateur dramatics, and is training for his black belt in karate.



 




 


Breda Leyne, Webinar Facilitator

Following a career background in the public sector Breda has been engaged in FE and Skills since 2001. She has worked with several sector skills councils, and public sector bodies promoting workforce development through standards and qualifications. She is currently supporting the development and implementation of Apprenticeship Standards. She has worked with employer developer groups and has recently been supporting the education and training sector prepare for the transition to delivery under the Future Apprenticeships Programme. Breda has also worked on several European projects and bids.
 



 

Andre Mostert, Webinar Facilitator

Director, Cogito Development Projects

Andre has expertise in enterprise and business start-ups, especially with young entrepreneurs. He has also specialised in developing resources and learning programmes both within education and business. He trains and delivers workshops for a number of bodies, both in the UK and internationally. He is skilled in bid writing and has made and managed several successful submissions for European funding under Erasmus+ and H2020. Andre has extensive experience in working across borders as a Social Enterprise specialist for the British Council , as the lead trainer for the European Community Nepal IT project (www.nepalit.eu)
